Weekend Bites *I'm Biting on The Vampire Stalker by Allison Van Diepen*

Vampire Books that I'm biting on! Books that sound so wonderful, I want them too bite me back!
This week I finished my very sought after book The Vampire Stalker by Allison Van Diepen. Before I get to that I want to share with you 2 books that I received in the mail this week that are biting me at the ankles!!!
This book looks totally awesome, great for my new meme that I follow through Alison Can Read on Monday you will be seeing the review!!!

I want to thank Buzz Books for sending me this awesome book, that I look forward to sinking my teeth into

Without further waiting I give you
The Vampire Stalker
REVIEW  OF THE VAMPIRE STALKER
Why I loved biting this book, well let me tell you this book is awesome. Started out making me think of a cheesy book on a girl caught up in the current vampire novel craze. Alot like us Twilight Fans she is/has waited in HUGE lines for book signings, movies for this book. Come to fall in love with the characters, heck they even have Team Vigo or Team Alexander. So at first I thought, this is moving no where but the book quickly takes a different turn.
The writer of the "Otherworld" books has written a new book in the series and like a pack of wild dogs Amy   and her friends cannot wait for the book, after reading the novel, Amy hears rumors of the "Otherworld" author having a case of writers block and frets about it because there is a HUGE possibility that her beloved character Alexander Banks is going to be killed. (She is Team Alexander)

World of the "Otherworld" Let me take you into the world of Alexander Banks the "fictional" character that Amy loves. See he is tracking Vigo trying to protect people. In their world the non'vampires have curfews at night even the police add hear to the curfew. The Vampires rule the night and the humans live in fear. Constant fear, plus Alexander has a bit of Ax to grind with Vigo wanted him dead and bad!!

Well without giving way to much away Amy is almost killed one night walking home and meets a man to familiar too her. Coming to find he is Alexander Banks  after some convincing. Alexander and Amy are trying to find a way for not only Alexander to return to his world but his enemy, as well as any other Vamps that passed through.  How did Elizabeth Howard the author of the "Otherworld" trilogy know so much about Alexander Banks and Vigo. Where is the pathway. Will the pathway destroy world as we know it..... Or is there no pathway?????? That is were the deception comes into play. You will want to read I cannot tell you.

I loved this book different kind of vampire book. Yes Amy loves Alexander but the fantasy she has and the man are different. I really was wondering for most of the book how they got there, what was going to happen. The Vampire Stalker left me chapter after chapter gripping the edge of my seat, well ok couch!!!

I related to Amy when it came to her high school years. Well at least my senior year. Not having a boyfriend, trying to find myself. Never interested in real people just characters in vampire books or other books, having a few friends, but just trying to get somewhere in life. I found Amy to be a wonderful main character. I wanted to cast her and do a little casting call for both characters since this was my Weekend Bites to give you something to bite on!!!
  Zooey Claire Deschanel as Amy

 Matt Dallas as Alexander Banks

I think that would be an awesome casting call, if you have read The Vampire Stalker let me know what you thought did you like my casting call!!!

I give The Vampire Stalker 5/5 smacks. Original and Fun at 257 pages not a long read, but you will get through it quick because its hard to let go!!!! I know I had to sleep halfway through, but didn't want to, my eyes had other thoughts and wanted to close. I also love the ending although if I say too much it will spoil the entire book so that's why my lips are sealed with alot!!!!

Add The Vampire Stalker to your Goodreads To Read List
or Purchase on Amazon Trust me this book is worth it!!!

This weeks question is:

Birthday Wishes -- Blow out the candles and imagine what character could pop out of your cake...who is it and what book are they from?

My Answer: Michael from the The Lost Boys by Craig Shaw Gardner
I have had a crush on him since like I was 8 years old and my sister had this poster on her wall. Needless to say at 13 I saw the movie, I was star struck. Then at age 22 I read the book which made my interest in Micheal evolve more. So for 10 years he has been an ultimate vampire crush!!!!!
Haven't read The Lost Boys Buy it on Amazon good thing I own a copy the prices on Amazon for this book are HIGH!!! Lowest price is 28.00 WOW!!!

Blog Following Etiquette!!!

I have read so many post on Book Blogging Etiquette, in the past 5 months of book blogging. I have taken alot of the advice, along with laughed at some!!! But something seems left out, how about how we as just plain followers are suppose to behave when it comes to following a blog. I'm not the first person I consult for advice, so you don't have to listen to me, but I thought I would post my feelings anyway.

I love my readers, followers or stalkers LOL I actually don't even like the WORD follower. I mean who is really following me? According to my sidebar some really great people. But really I'm the one just writing and reading, then you read what I write. No real FOLLOWING. Your not following me to the store or the bank (scary). I'm going to share what I think is GOOD/BAD Blog Following Etiquette. Take what you want laugh at it too.

DON"T
  • If you follow a blog, and happen to leave a comment. Don't post your blog URL in the comment. If I want to go to your blog I will click on your picture which we all know has your blogs on it. NO advertising.

DO
  • If you are a new follower/reader/fan(blush), please say HI in the comment let me know you are following me. Then I will click on your profile. I love to follow fellow bloggers back!!! I'm busy mom of 5 kids, husband etc... so introducing yourself is cool.
DON'T
  • If you win a giveaway, and your name now appears on the rafflecopter. Please wait 24 hours for an email to come to you. Most all rafflecopters end at midnight. I might have picked the winner. But I'm super beat and haven't emailed you yet. But don't fret I will, Giveaways are Great. But most of them take work and time on a bloggers part. So please be patient

DO
  • If you are a readers and have won a giveaway, make a comment. The authors love it and lets me know you are excited for winning!!! I love books so all the giveaways I enter I respond nicely and with enthusiasm. I mean I'm not saying kiss my butt or anything. Just 1 tiny comment...
DON'T
  • Complain about a giveaway, if the giveaway says (ebook) really if you have a Kindle you can download a PDF by emailing it right to your Kindle. If you get a Kindle Version and you have a color Nook you can get a Kindle app for your Nook. I can't explain how to download to Nook, I don't have one I have a Kindle so happy to help with that. Never complain about a giveaway. FREE should be HAPPY... Don't make a mean comment. I won't delete it people will just be like JEEE maybe you should be grateful, for winning.

DO
  • Read the Post, if you are commenting for an interview/guest post. I understand skimming, but make sure your comment is really a comment. I love comments but questions asked to the author in comments on an interview or guest post should at least have the authors name right, or something about his/her book. I had to laugh at a comment on a fellow bloggers blog. Book about Mermaids and the entire interview was about the inspiration behind the book. Commenter's question, "What was the inspiration behind your novel?"
Come on now!!!! You stopped took the time to comment, but not read any of the post??? Reading is a passion of mine so only natural I read the POST!! LOL

DON'T
  • Ok this one is to people who follow who are writing a book. I have a review policy. I have it there so you know what I do and don't review. Some outrageous emails I have received in my inbox. Some times the words, YOU'VE GOT MAIL can make me laugh. Please read the policy. I love authors, books and reading. But how you word something is everything. "You have to read my book" or "Please Please review my book for me I'm broke and need money" NOPE....not so much a great way to start. Sob stories are for church, not book blogging LOL
DO
  • Have Fun on a blog, I love to look around know who I'm following. Even when I do a giveaway HOP or Follow Hop, I love to follow another blog and know that I follow. When I come back to them, maybe someone tweets about a cool review/interview or giveaway. I know I follow that blog. Being selective sometimes is good. I love my readers but its not all about numbers. Quality of a blog is key in the following. If you can't stand me, dislike my writing I'd rather not make you follow/read me. With that said don't delete me LOL
I'm going to leave this last DON'T for you. I love my readers and kid (HAHA) about Stalkers however please please

DON'T
  • Look up where a fellow blogger lives and make a comment about it. Just the fact you took the time to look my address up makes me nervous. Or my phone number. With that said, I no longer have my last name on any emails. LOL (you know who you are).........crying inside, pulling drapes!!!!
I love book blogging, I love my readers. If you have done any of these I'm not trying to single you out. This was just a fun post. Please NO hate mail!!! With one exception if you are the person who looked me up!!! I'm going to stalk back and I have resources LOL. And I am singling you out. LOL!!!!

Happy Reading....

Guestpost and Giveaway *Click: An Online Love Story* by Lisa Becker

Click
Fast approaching her 30th birthday and finding herself not married, not dating, and without even a prospect or a house full of cats, Renee Greene, the heroine of Click: An Online Love Story, reluctantly joins her best guy pal on a journey to find love online in Los Angeles. The story unfolds through a series of emails between Renee and her best friends (anal-compulsive Mark, the overly-judgmental Ashley and the over-sexed Shelley) as well as the gentlemen suitors she meets online. From the guy who starts every story with "My buddies and I were out drinking one night," to the egotistical "B" celebrity looking for someone to stroke his ego, Renee endures her share of hilarious and heinous cyber dates. Fraught with BCC's, FWD's and inadvertent Reply to All's, readers will root for Renee to "click" with the right man.

Online Dating Inspired Click: An Online Love Story
By Lisa Becker

I first met my husband while wearing my pajamas.  Really!  No, we weren't at some kinky singles party.  I was sitting comfortably in my apartment and he was hanging out in his.  But, I will never forget his email introduction via an online dating service, which invited me to check out his profile.  It was sweet, endearing and intriguing enough for me to log on to learn more about him.  After a week of emails, followed by a week of phone calls, we met for our first date - a traditional dinner and movie outing.  Even before I opened the door to greet him, I knew he was "the one."  Considering he lived 30 miles away, I'm not certain our paths would have typically crossed.  But after 12 years together - including 9 years of marriage (which in Los Angeles is apparently no small feat!) and two beautiful daughters, I have no doubt he is my soul mate.

After my now-husband and I met online, I was recalling some of the hilarious experiences that I had during the whole online dating experience.  How could I forget the guy who started every story (no joke!) with “My buddies and I were out drinking one night.”   I decided to capture some of them in writing and, from there and based loosely on my own experiences, my novel Click: An Online Love Story emerged.  The entire story is told in emails between our heroine, Renee Greene, her three best friends and the gentlemen suitors she meets online.  The format felt like a modern way to tell the story that fit the topic, and allowed readers to develop an intimate relationship with the characters.

Clearly, I’m a big fan of online dating and find it to be a useful tool for young professionals who are busy working and finding it difficult to make the right connection at the gym, bar, coffee shop or grocery aisle.  I say, people today are “married” to their cell phones and laptops, so why not use that technology to really get married, right?
While Click doesn’t end with a wedding (sorry for the spoiler!), during Renee’s road to happiness, we find many advantages to online dating.  My five favorite are:

·         On Your Own Terms – Online dating provides a relaxed, anytime and on your own terms experience.  Share as little or as much information as you want.  Avoid people you are not interested in.  Communicate at your convenience.   But, don’t send a message at 2:30 am.  Nothing smacks more of desperation than an email from someone trolling the Internet for a date in the wee hours of the morning.

·         Multi-Tasking Enabled – Flirt while filing your taxes.  Chat and trim your nails.  Meet a mate while making breakfast.  It’s a well-known fact that women are great multi-taskers.  Take full advantage of that skill.  As Shelley, the over-sexed character in Click says to the about-to-try-online-dating Renee, “A whole host of hot and horny single men that I can review, chat with, judge and mock – all while sitting in my office looking very busy.  Maybe I should give it a try myself.”

·        Trade the “Meat Market” for the “Meet Market” – Now you can avoid the “meat market” scene of bars and clubs and instead enjoy a “meet market” – an international bazaar (but let’s hope not too bizarre) of prospective mates.  The Internet allows you to make an online introduction to thousands if not millions of people around the world.  So, if you want to meet someone in Katmandu, well then, can do!

·         Save Time, Money and Energy – Let’s face it.  Dating isn’t cheap.   It takes time, money and, likely your most valuable and scarce resource, energy.   With the “try before you buy” environment of online dating, you don’t have to meet for a drink, grab a coffee or sit through a long dinner only to discover there’s no physical attraction, you have nothing in common, conversation is lacking, etc.

·         Rejection Made Easy – In Click, Renee gets an email from someone halfway across the world looking to meet someone willing to move for him.  After sending a polite and diplomatic “thanks but no thanks” email message, she proclaims to her friend, “It’s so much easier to reject someone over that Internet than in real life.  Score one for online dating!”   While rejection is easier for both parties when done online, it’s important to remember that people still have feelings.

As I've said many times before, if it happened for me, there's hope for you.  So log on and take a chance.   To purchase Click, please click here.   To follow updates on Click and share your stories about online dating, visit the Click Facebook fan page.

Thanks so much Lisa for a chance to get to know you and the story behind your beautiful novel!! Thanks to Lisa one lucky Book Review Club Reader will get a chance to win an ecopy of Lisa Becker's novel, Click: An Online Love Story!!!

Darkness Comes This Way By *Blog Tour* Pixie Lynn Whitfield

I'm so excited to be taking part in a Blog Tour for an awesome writer Pixie Lynn Whitfield!!! Not only is she a writer she is a fellow blogger!!! Pixie is also giving away an ecopy of her book to one lucky Book Review Club Reader so please enter at the end of the post!
Darkness Comes This Way (The Guardians of the Night #1)

MY THOUGHTS
Darkness Comes This Way is about a Vampire named Zarah, in her time there are rogue vampires those that kill humans. Blood thirsty, stalkers and killers. Then there are the Guardians Vampires which protect the humans from these killer rogues. Zarah happens to be a Guardian cured from being a rogue vamp. Zarah is strong, auburn hair with beautiful skin. Don't let that fool you, Zarah is a kick butt vamp willing to lay her life down for humans to "do her job" as a Guardian.
I love this book, actually to say that is an undestatement! At first, within the first chapter or so I thought this was going to be your "typical" vampire book. I love vampire books, sometimes the story lines start to lack originallity. Not Pixie she introduces characters then plays with them in your mind. Introducing things that capture your attention, to inspire your imagination. As a reader I long for that, want more.... I fell in love with Draven, Zarah's reluctant partner Guardian. Draven and Zarah have some snags in their relationship. I feel its one of those "I can't live with you, I can't live without you" relationships. So much better than the sappy paranormal romance relationships we see so often in everyday vampire novels.

This is not your average vampire novel, when I picked up Darkness Comes This Way, my mind took a pathway to another world. Teasing my eyes with the words, leaving me wanting more!!! Loved it!!!

I give this book 5/5 Smacks. Only bad part is Pixie need to give us more books!!!!

Blogger Birthday and Spotlight!!

I thought it would be neat being my birthday today!!! To spotlight Krista the Author of Book Review Club, plus share that I'm also spotlighted today on another blog Darcyholic Diversions Yes, I love Vampire Books as well as Y.A Books but Jane Austen is one of my all-time favorite Authors. In fact Jane inspired my Book Club Blog!!!

OK this photo wasn't the BEST but I love it! This was my first day back to college to complete my nursing degree!!
A little about me, as of today I'm 32 years old and have 5 children. My kids ages 9,8,7,5 and 2. I home school all of them!!! (My oldest has autism, and I have another child with ADHD.) Super Busy. I think homeschooling is one of the reasons I'm able to get reading done. During the week when Sarah my 2 year old naps, its "quiet reading" time. The other kids including me take a hour and read!! Then at night after all is quiet, the lesson is done for tomorrow, the dishes are done. I sit down with my husband to read an average of 2 hours per night. All of my book blogging is done at night throughout the week when I'm not reading. My children never actually see me blogging. They have seen my blog, in fact we started a little one for them to review children's books which they love. That we do every Tuesday, making all our post for the week. That blog is called Lollipops and Books!

Things I love besides reading and having fun with my family

  • Sewing-I make most of my girls dresses by hand! Emily age 8 and Sarah age 2 that way they have matching dresses. But not always since Emily is older, she likes different prints.
  • I'm LDS, (Mormon) I love my beliefs, I'm a convert to the church, although I have never been a person into organized religion. I love being LDS, my family is closer, as well as my marriage stronger because of my beliefs and values. But I have a ton of friends from all walks of life so I'm not close minded.
  • I love to paint, before I went to school for nursing I was in school for ART!! Favorite Painter
Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring. I don't know why just speaks to me.

  • Favorite Music, I love the 80's music, so my favorite band is POISON!! But I love all music so today's music I would say have to be Lady Gaga. But I do like that song don't know the artist "pocket full of sunshine"
  • Favorite Colors Black and Purple
  • Favorite Flower Carnations and Daisy
  • Favorite Season Autumn
  • A Secret wish I have to move back East!! That might just come true sooner than later!
  • Something most people including my friends don't know about me, I suffer from depression. and everyone does know, I have a HUGE fear of inclosed spaces. PANIC AWWW
  • Favorite Movies

Me and my son Sam

  • Favorite Book: Pride and Prejudice and The Vampire Armand, I read both at least twice a year!!! But I do love Twilight too!!
  • Favorite non-vamp series- The Daughters of the Sea by Kathryn Lasky
  • Favorite Mythical Character - The Dragon on the Never Ending Story
So those are some things about me, I'm 32 today! I really enjoy my family. I have a wonderful husband, kids plus super great in-laws/family on my husbands side and friends. My husband is a digital forensic examiner. We are in the process of moving for a job of his, and buying a home so life is stressful but fun!!! I love my readers so thank you for taking the time to read my reviews enter the giveaways. Reading is fun when you share it with others. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the others out there who are celebrating

Happy Reading
