Bloodlines Chronicles *Author Interview & Giveaway*

Bloodlines Chronicles
The Beginning
by Sandy Forman, Michele Leamon

Daniella is a young girl at the beginning of her life, who lives very simply working on her father’s dragon farm, but suddenly she is visited by the Queen’s very handsome Royal Enforcer, Andréas of the Dragon Clan; a young man with rugged good looks and his head on straight.

Within the span of a morning Daniella’s simple life turns upside down. She finds herself the Royal Princess of Gareth and with a mysterious threat on her life. With no idea who wants her dead, for her safety, she is whisked away by order of her new found mother, the Queen. With Andréas as her escort she embarks on adventures far from home and makes new friends along her perilous journey, unknowingly falling in love with tremendous adversities to overcome. A journey riddled with bloody sword fights, magic, friendships, humor, betrayals and love in the air she grows into a woman fit to be a queen.
A story filled with humans, werewolves, dwarves, elves, humorous tree sprites and magical seers and many more. This novel puts our characters through a gauntlet of humor, trouble and situations of the heart; leading up to Daniella realizing that she could never be that simple little farm girl anymore. That she will be the next queen even though she doesn’t fully understand what her heritage is and the changes her body is going through because of her parentage.

I'm happy to introduce you to the co-author of the Bloodline Chronicles, Michele Leamon. Thank you so much Michele for taking time to talk with our readers about yourself and new novel, Bloodlines Chronicles. Before we get into your novel lets get to know you.
Michele can you tell us a little about yourself.
Oh yes, I am a 45 year old housewife/writer. I haven't really been writing my whole life, but like you I love books. My favorite place in the whole world is Barnes and Noble book store. Just walking into the place gives me a high; I think it's the smell of the books, I love that smell. I live in East Bend, NC with my husband Tim who is also 45. I have two wonderful kids named Andrea (21) and Michael (19). Then there is my future daughter-in-law Lina Girl; she is a born and bread North Carolinian. I also have 2 grand daughters named Chastity and Serenity who are very precious to us. They are our first grand children so that should say everything. I was born in Phoenix, NY. Which is a suburb of Syracuse. I Grew up all over upstate NY though, my family moved around a lot when I was a kid. When I was 13 my parents moved to Winston-Salem, NC; where I attended school at Hanes Middle School and then later at North Forsyth High. I have to include that this is where I met my second husband Tim.  I married and had my children. Fast forward to 1997 where I went back to school for Nail Specialty and was very good at it, but ended up not able to work in it because of my asthma. Fast forward again 2 more years and my ex-husband and I separated. After 8 extremely bad years I by chance met up with an old friend from school (Tim) through my brother. We started talking on the phone and 5 months later I moved back to North Carolina; in 2009 we married. We have been through some really hard times but we love each other more today than we did when we married.
Daniella is the main Character in your Novel, where did her inspiration come from?
Wow good question, I really wanted her to be wholesome, sweet and someone that everyone would love; but not annoyingly so. So I sat and thought about it for a while and immediately thought of Reese Witherspoon. I absolutely love her movies. I don't even need to see a trailer or anything, if she's in it then I want to see it. I also went as far as to use her as an example to draw her. Her looks are timeless and innocent enough for what I wanted for Daniella.
Which Characters in your book were the hardest to write?
I had to think about this one for a while because we actually started writing the book 8 years ago in 2004. I would have to say the good characters, like Daniella, Andréas, Maltais, Dréagor the Dwarf, Benny the Humorous Tree Sprite, Queen Lizabetha, Liam the Werewolf, Creighton, Daniella's adoptive father, etc. With the bad characters there was no limitations, the worse the better; but with the good characters I had to stop and think, now would this character do that, or how would they say that. Yeah, definitely the good characters. I have to add that the most funnest characters to write had to be Benny and Dréagor the Dwarf. They are just so much fun to write; Dréagor with his accent and Benny with his mischief he gets into.
Did your family and friends add ideas as you were in the writing process?
My family and friends have helped me tremendously with the book, that is why they are mentioned in the acknowledgments. Not necessarily in the writing process but in other ways that have helped our family. Mostly if I came up with a idea I would bounce it off them to find out if they liked it and what they thought first before putting it in, because the kids are now in the right age group for the book. My son helped me with the cover art, God-bless you son!
Have you already started your next book?
Yes I have actually been editing the second book (Bloodlines Chronicles The Final Conflict) since the beginning of March to get it ready for publishing. I hope to publish it in a couple months. I am working on the drawings as I go this time so hopefully that won't delay us like it did with the first one.
So a few last questions for you, which do you prefer white or dark chocolate?
Oh come on, this is a no brainer, both, chocolate is chocolate. I do tend to veer towards dark chocolate because it's healthier for you, but I love chocolate of any kind.
Computer for Writing or old-fashioned pen?
Laptop/computer, I don't think I could write with a pen anymore. I type at about 50 to 60 words per minute and can barely keep up with how fast my brain works. I can't even imagine writing it. I think there would be lots of mistakes, and I think I'm a little OCD in that department, can't stand mistakes. Word drives me crazy, because I have a lot of made up words in the book. I mean it is a different planet, common sense would say it wouldn't be like earth. Needless to say word and I fight all the time over spellings of my made up words. The biggest one is Dréagor, I have to actually go into the grammar section and ignore the rule completely.
